Features
Some of the
most important features of the Allure are designed to ensure that as you sit in
your office chair, you’re less affected by the impacts of a partially sedentary
lifestyle. We engineered the Allure with four revolutionary features to help
reduce the effects of sitting on your circulation.
Foam
molded seat
While most
office chair seats are made with open cell foam that is simply cut from big
blocks, the Allure seat is molded just for our chair. Our mold is designed to
better distribute your weight and spread pressure across your legs, which helps
mitigate cutting off your circulation in any one area. Molded foam also keeps
its resilience for years longer than cut foam and is always one of the first
things we look for in evaluating chairs.
Seat
Depth Adjustment
Everybody is
different, and to feel comfortable in a seat, we each want to feel like our
legs are on the seat “enough”. But we
also need to be careful not to stop the blood from coming back up from our feet,
and if “enough” is too much, that isn’t good. To ensure you have the best
posture and keep your circulation flowing effectively, you always want to have
about three fingers of space behind your knee before the seat starts. Our seat
depth adjustment features ensure a customized fit for every person that uses
the Allure in their office. By adjusting the seat depth, you can have the right
amount of seat under your legs at all times. Extend it out for taller people.
Make it shorter depth if you’re naturally shorter in stature.
Waterfall
Release
This feature
is unique to the ErgoFocus line of ergonomic furniture. With the Waterfall
Release, you’ll transform how you achieve ultimate comfort as you work during
the day. Together with adjusting the seat depth, we’ve designed the Allure with
the ability to flex the front portion of the seat using a hinge to help take
pressure off your legs during the day. This is a revolution in ultimate comfort
and circulation!
Synchro-tilt
Mechanism
This feature
is designed to be an excellent rocker for reclining. It moves backward two
degrees for every one degree that the seat reclines, which helps to reduce
pressure on your legs while reclining. While other brands include a
synchro-tilt feature on their office chairs, they don’t compare to the
capabilities and functionality of the Allure from ergoFocus. We designed the
Allure to bring you back to an excellent upright posture so that you can stay
back in the chair rather than leaning forward off the back of the chair, as
most people do when working. It also gives appropriate resistance to be able to
hold a broader range of weights than most so that heavier body types are still
able to sit upright. At the other, equally important end of the spectrum,
lighter body types don’t feel pushed forward due to excessive resistance from the
mechanism. With easy lock features, you can lock the chair upright or at two
reclined angles.
Adjustable
Lumbar Support
The sculpted
back features an integrated adjustable lumbar support that moves up and down
with your fingertips while seated. It flexes to provide appropriate,
comfortable support.
8-way Adjustable Arms
Most
armrests are simply not well designed and are far worse than not having
armrests at all, and the Allure is the exception that proves the point. Let’s
think about good posture. You want to have your arms placed with your elbows at
your side, shoulders relaxed and forearms outward moving in an arc. So the arms
need to be set close to your sides, not extending out to the side to reach the
armpads. If you have wide shoulders or hips, you need that arm to be moved
outward. We each also have a different range for where our forearms fall on the
armpad with shoulders supported, so the height needs to be adjustable.
Likewise, we vary greatly in how thick we are in the lower torso, and if the
armpads are too far forward they may hit the desk, keeping us from being able
to pull up to the desk and keep our elbows at our side with relaxed shoulders. Having
the armpads too far forward also risks putting pressure on the tendons while
typing. Ideal placement for the armrest pads is in line with the front of our
stomach.
Of course,
our Allure armrests meet all these criteria. The posts themselves are strong
and beautiful, made of polished cast aluminum and are both width and height
adjustable. The armpads are able to move front to back, as well as pivot, to
ensure that the user is able to support their forearms.
Beauty and Goodness
The Allure
also has an upgraded, beautifully polished aluminum base to complement the arms.
And we’re equally proud that the plastic of our chair frame is made of 35%
recycled and recyclable material and is shipped right to you in recycled and
recyclable packaging. And just think of how much longer a quality chair
will last, while two or three lesser chairs would end up in a landfill.
